Health Score (Desk Doctor) Desk Doctor accurately monitors your keyboard and mouse activity and calculates your 'Health Score'. This is displayed in the Desk Doctor Health Monitor. Typing and using the mouse decreases your Health Score, while taking short breaks and doing Desk Doctor exercises increases it. By maintaining a health score close to 100, you can ensure that you are balancing your stress inducing activities with appropriate exercises to prevent or rehabilitate your muscle and joint issues. Hovering (Desk Doctor) The action of holding the mouse when it is not actively being used to point and click. Holding onto the mouse while reading a document is often a major contributor to RSI. Gripping a mouse stresses muscles and joints in the hand unnecessarily. Over time this may cause excessive muscle tension and associated hand and arm pain. When Desk Doctor's monitoring feature notices that you are moving the mouse without clicking, it will light up the red mouse image in the Health Monitor to tell you to let go. In time, you will learn to let go of the mouse when you are not using it and thereby reduce the stress in your hand.
