Thoracic outlet test
Trigger finger

Thoracic outlet test, throb, muscle tightness..

Thoracic Outlet test   An orthopedic test in which the individual extends and abducts the arm while depressing the scapula and turning the head in the opposite direction. Adson's test is another vascular specific test where the examining doctor palpates the pulse in the wrist while the patient is in this position. A decrease in pulse pressure is positive for thoracic outlet vascular compression. Desk Doctor uses thoracic outlet testing in its Assessment module.

About Desk Doctor Assessment.

Throb   A dull pulsating pain.

Tightness in muscle   A constriction or decrease in muscle length which leads to a decreased ability to lengthen (or stretch) a muscle. Tightness is due to muscle overuse or keeping the muscle in a restricted position for a period of time. A variety of treatments may be required depending on the amount of time that the muscle has been tight. Excessive muscle tension needs professional help from a massage therapist, chiropractor, osteopath or physiotherapist. A combination of deep slow stretches and exercises also work very well to break up adhesions, increase blood flow and lengthen the muscles. About Desk Doctor exercises .

Tingling   A sensation which occurs after a limb feels as if it has "fallen asleep". It is caused by the blood moving back into the part of the body where blood flow has been restricted. Tingling which cannot be attributed to a specific cause may be a sign of a more serious condition. If tingling occurs after a physical activity such as typing on a keyboard or using a mouse, it may indicate that tight muscles are restricting the flow of blood into the arm. Desk Doctor software offers a solution for detecting muscular tensions and matches exercises to your specific needs.

Triceps stretch (Desk Doctor)   A range of motion test which can assess the tension in the triceps muscle, the back and the deep muscles of the shoulder. By detecting tension in these muscles Desk Doctor can create an exercise plan to address the specific issues. About Desk Doctor exercises.

Trigger finger   Caused by the thickening of tendon sheath around the finger joint which pinches the tendon and prevents it from gliding smoothly. May also be due to a nodule forming on a tendon preventing it from sliding through the sheath. Affected joints may become painful to straighten once bent, and may make a soft crackling sound when moved. Trigger finger is a type of tenosynovitis stenosing tenosynovitis.
